It will be an honour to work for such old organization associated with UWindsor since 1980. I am a civil engineer by profession. I completed my bachelor’s from A. D. Patel Inst of Tech, Anand, which is far from my hometown Surat. So, I spent my entire 4 years living as a hostel student. People who were in hostel know it very well that coming from home comfort to hostel life will teach us so many things. First and foremost is managing our monthly budget. Moreover, we have to make sure that all things will be covered for a month in that little money our parents give us. Those things include Stationeries, Food, Laundry, Transportation, and Entertainment.
  2. How do you plan on facilitating positive work relationships within the GSS board and membership?
During final year of my degree, I was a Core member of our college Tech-fest committee, so I was involved with event organization and finance management. I have a knowledge of working as a group and handling events.
  3. What lessons/skills have you acquired from overcoming an obstacle in your educational career and how can you apply those learnings to this position
In second year, as a senior we arranged freshers party for our newly enrolled junior students. So, me and my friends were appointed to arrange catering service for roughly 250 people in budget of $550 (Rs.30,000). That whole work thought me lesson of negotiation, cooperation, and event management well.
  4. Describe the importance of the GSS in your own words
I know about GSS as I enrolled in MEng course through social media. I was surprised to know that this institution been with University of Windsor for more than 40 years. It is a long journey they travelled since October 24, 1980. GSS is associated with many successful Universities events. It helped plenty of students in past with their academic affairs financially and mentally both. I think GSS is an undetachable part of university now. And I would like to be a part of it and serve as many students as I can.
