What are the GSS Executive Elections?

Once annually, during the early Winter term, the standing members of GSS will elect the Executives.

The Executives is comprised of:

  • President
    - Must have previously served a minimum of one term on GSS Board
  • Vice President Academic Affairs
  • Vice President Finance
  • Vice President University Affairs

The Executive serves from May 2026 – April 2027. Students must be enrolled all semesters, with no Co-op placements.

ELECTION DATES:

Nomination Period: Friday, February 27, 2026 – Thursday, March 5, 2026 @ 5:00 PM
All Candidates Meeting (Online): Thursday, March 5, 2026 @ 7:00 PM
Campaign Period: Monday, March 9, 2026 @ 12:01 AM – Tuesday, March 17, 2026 @ 11:59 PM
Voting Days: Wednesday, March 18, 2026 @ 9:00 AM – Thursday, March 19, 2026 @ 6:00 PM
Appeal Period: Thursday, March 19, 2026 @ 7:00 PM – Sunday, March 22, 2026 @ 7:00 PM
GSS Ratification Meeting (Online): March 27, 2026 @12:00 PM

When can I vote and how?

Elections are completed electronically, which means each eligible voting member must cast their vote using the official secure online elections portal.

Members may vote by using their UWindsor credentials (UWin ID not student number), and only between the official elections/voting period:

The electoral process is under the purview of the Chief Returning Officer (CRO), who acts as an independent third-party to the GSS, mandated to coordinate all elections activities, publish elections communications, handle appeals, and respond to member and public inquiries regarding the process.
