What are the GSS Board of Director Elections?

Once annually, during the early Fall term, the standing members of GSS will elect the team of Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors is formed of “departmental” representatives and “at-large” representatives.

Departmental representatives for each faculty department within Graduate Studies at the University of Windsor. In some circumstances, due mainly to size, multiple facilities are represented by a single representative. The departmental representative positions are:

Nomination Period: Thursday, October 19, 2023 – Friday, October 27, 2023 @ 5:00 PM
All Candidates Meeting (Online): Friday, October 27, 2023 @ 6:00 PM
Campaign Preparation Period: Saturday, October 28, 2023 – Monday, October 30, 2023
Campaign Content Approval Deadline: Monday, October 30, 2023, @ 5:00 PM
Campaign Period: Wednesday, November 1, 2023, 12:01 AM – Tuesday, November 7, 2023, 11:59 PM
Voting Days: Wednesday, November 8, 2023 @ 9:00 AM – Thursday, November 9, 2023 @ 6:00 PM
Appeal Period: Thursday, November 9, 2023 @ 7:00 PM – Sunday, November 12, 2023 @ 7:00 PM
GSS Ratification Meeting (Online): Monday November 13, 2023 @ 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM

When can I vote and how?

Elections are completed electronically, which means each eligible voting member must cast their vote using the official secure online elections portal.

Members may vote by using their UWindsor credentials (UWin ID not student number), and only between the official elections/voting period:

The electoral process is under the purview of the Chief Returning Officer (CRO), who acts as an independent third-party to the GSS, mandated to coordinate all elections activities, publish elections communications, handle appeals, and respond to member and public inquiries regarding the process.
