The Graduate Student Society (GSS) is looking to hire a part-time Digital Media Assistant for the 2024 summer term. This is a part-time position (5-7 hours a week). This position will include a mixture of in-person and remote work, with flexible hours.
This role will work with the Events and Clubs Coordinator to help prepare and publish social media content to effectively engage graduate students through multiple platforms. The Digital Media Assistant will assist in building out a communications plan, as it pertains to generating social media and communications content. This could include generating original content ideas or being assigned content ideas and creating a schedule to distribute them.
This role is required to attend in-person GSS events to assist with gathering media content.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience utilizing social media and creating content (examples to be provided during interview – e.g., reels, campaigns)
- Video editing experience
- Photography experience
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Awareness of the importance of brand consistency
- Experience with following a communications strategy/plan
- Experience with reviewing social media analytics and using them to increase effectiveness of content
- Experience writing social media captions
Preferred Qualifications:
- A graduate student
- A student in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related media field
- The student will be returning in the Fall term
- Experience with WordPress and updating website content
- Experience with Canva, Adobe or another photo/video editing software
