The University of Windsor is excited to introduce the Lancer Centre to you! Designed to enhance the student experience, promote campus spirit, and community pride the Lancer Centre expands and enriches Building Campus, Building Community and Building Champions at UWindsor and throughout Windsor-Essex. The $73 million Lancer Centre provides students and visitors with access to modern facilities, open and airy social spaces filled with natural light featuring much-needed connections to the main campus. Our students, our community, and our region will benefit from this state-of-the-art facility that will have the ability to host international, national, and provincial games and championships as well as large-scale events, conferences and more.
We are proud of our partnership with the University of Windsor Student Alliance (UWSA), the Graduate Student Society (GSS) and Organization of Part-time University Students (OPUS) who have embraced the Lancer Centre with a $55 million contribution. Their generosity demonstrates their commitment to UWindsor along with the Lancer and Windsor Proud brands. This is the largest student contribution to any university in Canada. Their belief in this project along with their desire to ensure an inclusive environment that encourages excellence in all areas of health, wellness and human potential will be their legacy to UWindsor and the Windsor-Essex community for generations to come 8,000 square feet of fitness space including main floor and mezzanine
The new Lancer Centre is designed to enhance the student experience, promote campus spirit, and community pride. The Lancer Centre aims to expand and enrich Building Campus, Building Community and Building Champions at UWindsor and throughout Windsor-Essex. The Fitness Centre will be a highlight of the new centre and will include the following features:
- fully accessible with a variety of equipment for all ages and abilities
- compliment the current Forge Fitness Centre
- state-of-the-art cardiovascular and resistance training equipment
- a variety of virtual, digital, and in-person fitness training opportunities for users
- provide student employment opportunities, community partnerships and research
- Ground Floor – 500m2 (5,382 sq.ft.)
- Mezzanine – 255m2 (2,745 sq.ft.)
